Latin American poker has another major stop on the calendar this spring, with WSOP Circuit Montevideo 2026 set for May 18 to 25 at Casino Carrasco in Uruguay. GGPoker will serve as the exclusive online qualifier for the festival, opening the door to satellites and freerolls from March 30.
The stop brings more than a change of scenery. The schedule includes 12 official WSOP Circuit gold ring events, side tournaments, VIP experiences, and international media coverage. On top of that, every gold ring winner will also pick up a $5,000 package to the WSOP Circuit Championship at WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas.
Why WSOP Circuit Montevideo 2026?
For plenty of players in the region, Uruguay still feels a bit outside the usual live poker map. This is a ring series in a location that many players have not yet had the chance to visit, attached to a venue that already carries some weight on its own.
WSOP Circuit Montevideo is a unique opportunity for players from all over Latin America to make their way to Uruguay and enjoy a world-class poker experience in an extraordinary setting. -Juan Carreño, Head of Spanish Latam at GGPoker.
Players who have been around the live circuit a while will also know the setting. Casino Carrasco, often referred to as “The Palace in the Sand,” gives the stop a stronger identity than the average casino ballroom setup. Add in the gold rings and the extra Bahamas package for winners, and there is a bit more on the line than usual.
How to Qualify for WSOP Circuit Montevideo 2026 on GGPoker
The online qualification period runs from March 30 through May 10, and the entry points are fairly broad. GGPoker is offering a ladder that starts at the low end, with daily $5 satellites during the week, plus a Saturday freeroll that awards five $215 tickets.
From there, players can move into $33 package qualifiers, a $22 Sunday last-chance satellite, and the $215 Weekly Final for the $1,700 WSOPC Montevideo Main Event. The structure gives players more than one route in, which matters. Not everyone wants to fire straight into the bigger buy-ins, and this format leaves room for smaller bankrolls to take a shot first.
WSOPC Uruguay 2026 Satellite Schedule
Qualifiers start March 30 on GGPoker with multiple daily chances from FREE to $215.
| Day | Time (UTC+0) | Tournament | Buy-in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon-Fri | 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 PM | WSOP-C Uruguay Daily Satellite | $5 |
| Saturday | 8:30 PM | WSOP-C Uruguay Freeroll (5 × $215 tickets) | Free |
| Mon-Sat | 12:00 AM | WSOP-C Uruguay Package Qualifier | $33 |
| Sunday | 8:00 PM | WSOP-C Uruguay Last Chance Satellite | $22 |
| Sunday | 11:00 PM | WSOP-C Uruguay Weekly Final | $215 |
The qualifier setup is also fairly easy to understand, which is not always the case with these online paths. A player can start small, or start for nothing, and still work toward a live WSOP Circuit stop in Uruguay. That already gives the promotion some substance before even getting to the extra Bahamas angle for ring winners.
Casino Carrasco Adds a Different Feel to the Stop
asino Carrasco sits on Montevideo’s Rambla República de México, right along the waterfront, and it gives the series a setting that feels more distinctive than most tournament stops. The property opened in 1921 as Uruguay’s first luxury hotel and now operates as part of the Sofitel brand.
Its French Riviera-inspired design and long history give the venue some personality, which poker festivals usually have to borrow from the tour branding alone. This one does not have that problem. There is also the Albert Einstein footnote, which is the sort of detail that sounds made up until you realise it is not.
