1. Know the Odds: To take your poker game to the next level, you need to have a good understanding of the odds for various hands that you may have. By learning this, you will be able to make better decision. Once you learn the odds, you will know whether to call, fold, raise or check your hand in each round, making you more likely to succeed.

2. Bluff: As a beginner, you are advised to avoid bluffing too much. However, learning to bluff is essential to becoming a great poker player. Bluffing means tricking players into thinking you have a better hand than you actually. However, you should only bluff when you have either just won through good play, or when there are not many players in the pot.

3. Raising: As an intermediate player, you may want to consider raising more often as you grow in confidence. It can be a good idea to raise if you think you have the best hand at the table, or when you want to drive other players away.

4. Take Risks: Once you become more experienced, you can afford to start playing more high risk hands such as low pairs, if there is enough money in the pot to justify the risk. Sometimes it also makes sense to play questionable hands in order to confuse your opponents.

5. Learn to read betting patterns: A key to taking your strategy to the next level is being able to identify other players’ betting patterns. By doing this you can establish which players are the weakest.
