GGPoker Time Bank Cards are now available
New feature launched as poker giant looks to reduce slow play

Time Bank Cards are now a feature on GGPoker, designed to give players more flexibility at the tables without compromising the pace of play.

Online poker often requires players to make quick decisions, but occasionally you need extra time before you make your next move.

That's where GGPoker’s Time Bank Cards come in. The simple feature is designed to give both time and make a real difference to your decision making, all without slowing down play.

At the start of a session, players receive a limited number of free Time Bank Cards. The exact number depends on the game type and the stakes involved.

When your shot clock is running out, you can activate a card to instantly add extra time to your clock.

If you run out of free Time Bank Cards and still require more time during a hand, you can purchase an additional Time Bank Card. 30 seconds of extra time will cost you one big blind. One Paid Time Bank Card can be used per hand.

The system is designed to be fair to all players. Rather than going to the house, the one big blind used to purchase a Paid Time Bank Card is redistributed evenly among the other players at the table. If that amount can’t be split equally, the players nearest to the dealer’s left will receive any remaining chips.

Time Bank Cards are available across all of GGPoker's cash games, including No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, Short Deck and Rush & Cash.

GGPoker expect Time Bank Cards to enhance games in several ways, by avoiding slow play and ultimately giving players more control.

It is also hard to argue that Time Bank Cards are unfair as there's little doubt that the redistribution of the Paid Time Bank Card cost ensures that everyone benefits when a player chooses to buy additional time.

For all players, the new feature should - in theory - result in uninterrupted gameplay. You can now make decisions without any time clock abuse at the tables, speeding up the game for everyone.

Time Bank Cards look set to be a growing trend at online poker sites this year, with other poker rooms looking to introduce the feature in a bid to reduce, or completely eliminate, slow play at the tables.
