Stake Poker Black Friday
Stake Poker introduces the $5 buy-in Speed Run tournament featuring a $300 guarantee. The 6-max NL Holdem event offers 5,000 chip starting stacks, 5-minute levels, and bubble protection for early registrants. Players can utilize up to 9 re-entries during play.

Stake Poker has introduced a new high-pace tournament format titled Speed Run, designed for players seeking rapid action and aggressive short-stack dynamics. The event features a $5 buy-in and offers a $300 guaranteed prize pool, utilizing a 6-max No Limit Holdem structure to maximize hand frequency and engagement.

The Speed Run event is built around a turbo-style progression. Participants begin the competition with a starting stack of 5,000 chips, which is equivalent to 25 big blinds. To maintain the fast-paced nature of the game, blind levels increase every 5 minutes.

Registration for the upcoming event remains open, with the tournament scheduled to commence in approximately five hours. For those who do not join at the start, a late registration period is available for the first 30 minutes of play. The tournament requires a minimum of 6 players to proceed and can accommodate a maximum field of 7,000 entrants.

While the format does not support traditional rebuys or add-ons, it provides significant flexibility through a re-entry system.

Players are permitted up to 9 re-entries, with each costing the standard $5 buy-in. This structure keeps the field dynamic and allows participants multiple opportunities to remain in contention for the $300 guarantee. Additionally, players have the option to use ticket entry for participation.

A notable feature of the Speed Run is the inclusion of bubble protection. All participants who register for the event before the late registration period begins are eligible for this benefit.

This provides a safety net for early registrants as the tournament approaches the payout threshold, mitigating the risks associated with the bubble phase.

Fast-Paced 6-Max Gameplay

The 6-max table configuration is a central component of the Speed Run experience. By limiting the number of players at each table, the format ensures more frequent decision-making spots and encourages a more aggressive style of play.

Combined with the 5-minute levels and short starting stacks, the tournament is tailored for players who prefer a condensed and energetic poker format.
