April is set to be another big month for live poker, with lots of lucrative events and tournaments taking place all over the world.

On this page we have lots of information about some of the biggest and best live poker events scheduled for April 2024.

European Poker Events April 2024

April is not the busiest month for live poker in Europe, but it does include several high profile events, including a WPT Prime Championship in Bratislava, a WSOPC in Cannes and the high-profile EPT Monte Carlo. For those with smaller bankrolls, there are plenty of lower buy-in options throughout the continent, including three affordably priced festivals in Malta.

United Kingdom: Most of April's significant live poker events are at Grosvenor Casinos, with the GUKPT Edinburgh being the highlight for most with its £1,250 main event.

A 25/50 weekend at Grosvenor Casinos, sees five £250 buy-in events taking place simultaneously in venues in Coventry, Stockton-on-Tees, Portsmouth, Glasgow and Luton. At a slightly higher price point, the £560 UK Poker League by 888 Poker has its fourth event of the year, this time at the Grosvenor Casino in Manchester.

Ireland: The Irish Open takes place over the Easter Weekend and just creeps into April, as that is the final day of the main event. It is the oldest poker tournament in Europe with a rich history and is sponsored by Paddy Power and PokerStars.

France: The WSOPC festival in Cannes is the live poker highlight of the month for events taking place on French soil. It runs from April 12-22 with a €1,100 main event. It might not be the highlight of the month for French players, however, as the long established EPT Monte Carlo festival starts soon after the conclusion of WSOPC Cannes. Featuring both the €1,100 France Poker Series main event and the €5,300 EPT main event, it surpasses the prestige of even the World Series in this part of the world.

Liechtenstein: It may be one of the smallest and often overlooked countries in Europe, but its small size doesn’t prevent it from being one of the best poker locations in Europe, with a busy poker room at Grand Casino Liechtenstein, managed by the highly experienced Yalcin Dundar, who always puts on a great show. This month, running from April 11-23 the casino is holding an event called the Wolf Millionaire, with a buy-in of 600 Swiss Francs and a 1million guarantee.

Malta: Without doubt this is Europe’s hottest destination (literally) for big field, low buy-in poker events. Being the southernmost country in the European Union it is blessed with over 300 days of sunshine per year and April is one of the best month’s to visit the tiny island state.

Events this month include the Battle of Malta’s Spring Edition at Casino Malta, which includes a busy tournament schedule headed by a €600 buy-in main event, with a guarantee of €500,000, and the

Malta Poker Festival from April 22-29 with a €550 buy-in main event.

Poker Events in the Americas April 2024

April is another busy month for live poker in the Americas, with three further WSOPC festivals taking place as well as two WPT Championships. There is also of course the highly-anticipated WPT Voyage event.

South America is less busy when compared to its northern counterpart, however it is buoyed by the first LAPT festival of the year in Panama, while a further Kings Series of Poker event takes place in Fortazela, Brazil. Let’s take a closer look at what’s on and where.

Las Vegas: The WSOP is still a few months away, but it’s not far away in the heads of thousands of live poker players all over the world, who will now be planning their summer in Nevada. It’s also not far away for players on GGPoker, who have stormed the Road to Vegas satellite promotion right from the get go, with more than 1,000 online qualifiers from the world’s largest site looking very much on the cards.

Rest of the United States: Elsewhere in the USA, there is plenty going on in April. In fact there are far too many poker festivals and series going on for us to be able to list them all in an article like this, so we’re not even going to attempt to!

Highglihts include World Poker Tour Championships in Choctaw, Oklahoma and Hollywood, Florida, for the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. In addition to these land based WPT events, the WPT Voyage sets sail from Miami on March 31.

Also in Florida, the Moneymaker Tour visits Daytona Beach, while there are two WSOPC events in April, in Elgin, Illinois, and in Tunica, Mississippi.

Canada: A WSOPC runs in April at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal.

Brazil: The GGPoker sponsored Kings Series of Poker has its second stop of the year from April 3-9.

Poker Events for Asia and Australia in April 2024

March was a great month for poker in Asia, with the APT Taipei and Triton Jeju Super High Roller Series being the highlights of the month.

April also has a lot to offer live poker players in Asia and Australia, with several events of interest going on.

Poker Dream 9 takes place in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur from March 28 through April 8, with a RM4,800 buy-in main event spanning several days (March 29-April 4).

In the Philippines, The Okada Manilia Millions takes place at the PokerStars Live Room at Okada Manilia, the largest integrated casino and hotel resort in Asia. The event has a 7,500 Philippines Peso main event, which runs from April 1-7.

In South Korea, the ATP Jeju starts on April 26 as the Asian Poker Tour prepares for its second event of the year, after the highly successful Taipei event.

Running from April 26 - May 4, APT Jeju has a KWR 800,000 main event and as always a very busy schedule of side events.
