Caesars Entertainment has sold the World Series of Poker brand (WSOP) to NSUS Group. The transaction is reportedly valued at $500 million. However, Caesars retains the right to host WSOP tournaments in Las Vegas.

Caesars Retains Key World Series of Poker Brand Rights

The $500 million transaction, split equally between cash and a five-year promissory note, transfers WSOP’s intellectual property to NSUS Group.

However, Caesars secured a 20-year right to host WSOP’s prestigious live tournaments at its Las Vegas properties. Additionally, Caesars will continue to operate WSOP’s online poker platform in select U.S. states, including Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

Under the deal, Caesars will pause other online peer-to-peer poker operations, although Caesars’ physical poker rooms will still carry WSOP branding. Caesars also retains preferential hosting rights for WSOP Circuit events across its locations.

Key WSOP Executives Transition to NSUS Leadership

Several top executives with decades of WSOP experience will move to NSUS as part of the sale.

Ty Stewart, previously head of the WSOP, will become the Chief Executive Officer of NSUS’s newly formed WSOP division. Gregory Chochon will join him as Chief Operating Officer, while Erik Eidissen will manage communications.

These leaders bring more than 30 years of combined WSOP experience, positioning NSUS to expand the brand and grow the iconic poker series globally.

WSOP and GGPoker

WSOP and GGPoker continue to operate in a partnership despite these recent developments. The two brands have blended WSOP’s leading poker brand with GGPoker’s digital online presence to bring poker to millions.

Global players can continue to sign up at GGPoker and find WSOP-branded events to follow and enter. This includes the WSOP Road to Paradise 2024.

New players can join the GGPoker poker platform by completing the registration form. In addition, new customers can utilise the welcome bonus by entering the GOPOKER code during sign up.
